the
program..... |
Introduction.
The AFA program is
very simple and easy to follow. It consists of a combination of home care application and in-salon treatments. We
suggest six weekly in-salon AFA facials in combination with the application of
AFA Gels at home.
You will start on the AFA Mild Gel, your therapist may suggest
the use of the AFA Plus Gel after 4 to 8 weeks. The in-salon facials consist of
the controlled application of more powerful Gels that will accelerate the
results. After the initial six facials a monthly 'top-up' facial is recommended.
Evening routine.
Cleanse the skin thoroughly removing all traces of make-up then pat the skin dry. Apply the AFA Gel sparingly to the face (3 to 4 drops) with the fingertips; apply evenly to all areas avoiding direct eye contact. Upon initial use only leave the Gel on for 2 hours. A mild tingling sensation is normal, this will reduce as your skin becomes accustomed to the Gel. The Gel can be removed from the face with AFA Cleanser, rinsing well with water. An appropriate AFA Moisturiser, selected for your skin type, can then be applied.
If there is no irritation or reaction to the first application (irritation is
extremely rare), then subsequent applications can be left on all night. Do not apply anything over the Gel (the moisturiser is used the first night
only as you have re-cleansed the face).
NOTE Please do not apply your home Gel the evening before your in-salon facial.
Morning routine.
Cleanse the skin thoroughly with AFA Cleanser, rinsing well with water, then pat dry. Apply your AFA Moisturiser, allowing it to dry thoroughly before applying a sunscreen and cosmetics.
In-Salon
Facial.
NOTE
Please do not apply your home Gel the evening before your in-salon facial.
Your in salon facial
will be completed by an AFA qualified therapist only. To begin the
therapist will cleanse
your skin thoroughly with AFA Cleanser, rinsing well with water, then pat dry. A
'professional use only' AFA Gel will be carefully applied and left on the face
for three to five minutes. Finally your face will be rinsed with cool water and
pat dry. An appropriate AFA Moisturiser for your skin type will then be applied.
You may notice.
A mild tingling sensation is normal when the Gel is applied.
You may also notice that your skin becomes dry, this is the exfoliation process at work and is quite normal.
Apply an appropriate AFA Moisturiser for your skin type, your therapist will be
happy to advise you.
ATTENTION
Do not use AFAs in conjunction with other medical skincare products such as Retin A, hydroquinones, AHAs, BHAs or bleaching products. If you are unsure please contact your therapist.
AFA
Gels contain sugar cane extracts and a small amount of vitamin C, if you are allergeric to vitamin C
or sugar cane do
not use the Gel. |
