Microdermabrasion
is a process where by a miniscule amount (40 microns - or 4 one hundredths
of a millimeter) of the upper layer of the skins surface (the epidermis)
is removed by mechanical means without penetrating or puncturing the
epidermis. Many medical authorities have described it is a bridge
between mild facial peels and laser resurfacing. Typically a series of
4-6 treatments are suggested.
EcoPeel
is unique in that it provides 2 methods of microdermabrasion:
Crystal Kit:
Involves the use of Corundum crystals, an inert and rough shaped fine
crystals, that are fired at the skin via a precision hand piece and then vacuumed
back up into a waste collection jar. Useful for fine controlled
microdermabrasion on say mild scarring, but does require the use of the crystals as a
consumable ( 8 to 10 treatments per jar of crystals). The Crystal kit
includes a foot controlled boost switch which can be used to increase
the flow of crystals for increased abrasion on certain areas as
required.
Diamond
Kit: A hand piece encrusted with small diamond chips is moved across
the skins surface. The degree of suction through the centre of the hand
piece tip controls the abrasion depth and vacuums up the waste material.
A variety of tip sizes and grades (fine, medium & course) are
available. The advantage of this method is that little to no consumables
are required - the diamond tips can be cleaned, sterilized and re used
many times before they need to be replaced. The Diamond Kit is suitable
for general aesthetic treatments.
EcoPeel
is available with one or both kits and either kit can be added at
anytime. Back

Process: Following an initial consultation with the client, Derm Aid
protective eyewear is placed over the clients eyes. The appropriate kit
is fitted to the machine and the treatment begins. The clients skin is
fully cleansed. The hand piece is then moved across the clients skin
with a conscious effort made to follow the lymphatic drainage channels.
When treating the eye and neck area, vacuum pressure is reduced, and the
skin is held taut so that any excess skin is not drawn up into the hand
piece.
Excess
crystals are removed with a brush and the skin is gently cleansed.
An
optional post treatment ampoule & mask may be applied, the Eden Beauty
Group recommend the Casmara Green Mask (http://www.mycasmara.com) which cools and soothes the skin.
A Casmara Biological Soothing, Nourishing or Repairing Ampoule may also
be applied. AFA SPF 30 sun block is then applied and aftercare is discussed with
the client.
NOTE
Full training is available with each unit, treatment processes may
differ depending upon the area / issue being treated.
