As this is my first blog post I thought I should start at the very beginning of my quest to travel the world and achieve beautiful skin
My name is Susan Fox I am 47 years young and am a married Mum of 2. I trained as a beauty therapist in 1987 and from the very beginning I was fascinated by skin and improving it. My thesis in college was on acne. Following graduation I spent a number of years working in beauty salons in Dublin and then joined Aer Lingus for 10 amazing years working as cabin crew and following my other passion which is travel. I loved flying and felt so privileged to get to travel the world and combine everything I love to do, see the World, stay in beautiful places, shop in the most amazing stores and cities and find out about the latest products and treatments before they ever hit this side of the World.
However all of this came to a very abrupt end when I had an accident at the airport one day coming off a flight when a not very dramatic fall resulted in several prolapsed discs, a wrecked back and an end to my flying career. After a number of years of feeling very sorry for myself and 2 failed spinal surgeries I came to the conclusion that I was unemployable and that the only solution was to start my own business, which I did when I launched Eden in 2001.
From the very beginning my goal was to find the latest and most innovative skin care treatments and I spent a lot of time in the first few years travelling around the world sourcing them. We were one of the first salons in Ireland to offer IPL and botox clinics. We started doing skin peels over 15 years ago long before they gained the popularity they have today. Last year I brought the LED mask treatment to Ireland and I am continually on the look out for the next great treatment or product. I love the fact that beauty treatments and products are constantly evolving and I want to be the first to try them and bring them to my clients.
So, over the coming weeks and months my goal is to give you some practical advice on treatments and products that really work. Those that have proven results when it comes to treating skin conditions and also general advice on keeping your skin as healthy and glowing as possible.
I will be inviting guest bloggers to give me their advice and thoughts on all things beauty. I want this blog to be informative but also fun and interesting so if there are any topics you would like me to cover or questions you want answered please let me know. This will only work with your feedback and suggestions but I am excited to share my knowledge with you and hopefully have a little fun along the way.
